The FTDF alternative

Thank fully, that’s slowly changing, as people realise it’s prudent and correct to help plan their own funeral. “Funerals To Die For” are part of that new movement, planning ahead and being pro-active in all aspects of your life (and death!).  So we will be releasing details of our “FTDF Pre-pay Funeral Plan” very soon.

Well it’s still on the drawing board but this new plan will enable you to put essential cremation funeral services in place that suit your needs and your pocket.  Have a look, see what is included. > http://www.funerals-to-die-for.co.uk/services-funeral-plans.shtml.

We have been working on developing a new form of pre-paid funeral plan for FTDF which protects the value of the money set-aside, takes out the multiple tiers of profit taking and allows full flexibility over which funeral services are used. It will only be available to FTDF members.

We have used a professional fund manager to set up a special FTDF fund which uses ultra safe investments to generate a yield that will exceed the annual rate of inflation and protect the value of any money that you set aside for your funeral. It actively avoids volatile instruments, like the stock market and derivatives, preferring proven fixed-rate interest bearing investments. Against a target of 5% annual growth, the fund is currently returning 7%.

Hearse To Road Rage!

It’s been nick-named ‘Hearse Rage’ ! Co-operative Funeralcare have found that almost 75% of funeral care staff have seen an increase in discourteous behaviour towards funeral processions in the past five years.

The situation has got increasingly worse, with more traffic on today’s roads and people’s busier lifestyles. Road users tend to be so impatient nowadays and their main concern is to get to their end destination as quickly as possibly, regardless of other traffic.” said David Collingwood .

One in six motorists even saw the slow-moving cavalcades be on the receiving end of more disrespectful actions, including rude hand gestures, verbal abuse or other threatening behaviour.

There is a story that a bus driver interrupted a funeral in Welling, South-east London. Grieving relatives described how the horse-drawn hearse and limousines were yards away from the cemetery when the driver cut through the procession and shouted obscenities before driving his bus into the funeral director!  CRAZY!
